Publications Contact       Ask FM FM transmitter, community contributions, mixing desk, radios, 2009   'Ask FM' adopted the medium of the urban, pirate radio station to broadcast to the rural, Irish town of Askeaton, County Limerick. The station's contributors embraced many facets of the community including, a teenager singing wistfully about cars and girls, a mouth-organ-playing Tourist Guide and a wannabe child star. Yet, the core focus of the broadcast was on grassroots, political contributions from those involved with the non-profit structures and institutions forming the life-blood of the town, such as the local Credit Union, the Civic Trust and the community hall. The recordings were re-broadcast to the townspeople over a 24 hour period from a short range FM transmitter.
