Several seconds of sampled horror film score build and build
to form a dense and evocative sound work. Crossing the borders
of high and low musical genres, the composition is part Stockhausen
minimalism, part George A. Romero, B-movie soundtrack. As
a portable, audio artwork it was made to be incorporated into
an infinite number of liminal settings or non-sites. The work
acts as a kind of soundtrack for those sites.
Broadcasts to date include: A Haunting,
Manchester University; on the soundsystem of a West End, London
theatre before curtain rise; on the in-car stereo during a
minibus tour of a Lake District forest park, Grizedale,
Cumbria; and as an FM radio broadcast across Belfast, Northern
Ireland.
